Lydia Stonehouse Exhibition at Organ Projects in Brighton Church Space

Lydia Stonehouse presents eight paintings from 2024 at Organ Projects, located within One Church on Florence Road in Brighton. The exhibition runs from January 24 to 29, 2025. Stonehouse graduated from The University of Brighton in 2022 and received the CASS Art X Phoenix Art Space Studio award, supporting her post-graduation year at Phoenix studios. Works include 'Arrangements' (97x107cm, oil on canvas), 'An Ongoing Birth' (117x127cm), 'Lotus Birth' (26x21cm, both 2014), 'Book Scan' (35.5x51cm, oil and coloured crayon on canvas), 'Church State' (21x26cm, oil and carbon print on canvas), and 'Not Even Trying' (117x127cm, oil on canvas). Two paintings feature embedded electric lights behind the canvas. Organ Projects, founded in January 2024, is an artist-run space in a Brighton church room dedicated to showing visual artists locally and beyond, encouraging experimentation and dialogue. The exhibition space includes a curtained area revealed by a floor arrow, creating an intimate viewing environment.
