Luis López Lejardi Presents Recycled Material Exhibition at MAS Santander

Luis López Lejardi, a self-taught artist born in Torrelavega in 1957, is presenting his exhibition 'Fábulas de la visión. Miradas verticales' at the Museo de Arte Moderno y Contemporáneo de Santander y Cantabria (MAS). The show, curated by Lidia Gil and Fernando Zamanillo, runs from February 11 to May 31, 2026, and features recent works primarily made from plastic. Lejardi is known for using recycled and industrial materials like rubber, sheet metal, glass, cardboard, and copper, with plastic becoming his recent focus. His work references conceptual art, Arte Povera, minimalism, and pop art, often incorporating parts from vehicles and traffic signs to comment on consumption and environmental issues. The artist has previously exhibited at venues including La Vidriera de Camargo and galleries Zoom, Juan Silió, and Siboney.
