Lucy Bridge's Colour Mode Rethinks the Beauty Book with Veronica Ditting

publication · 2026-10-21

Thames & Hudson is set to release Colour Mode, the inaugural book by makeup artist Lucy Bridge, priced at £45. Instead of focusing on her career, the book features ten newly commissioned photographic narratives. Bridge collaborated with creative director Veronica Ditting after their work on a runway show, where Ditting suggested the partnership, which Bridge eagerly accepted, intrigued by the potential of a makeup book. The photographers contributing to this project include Tim Walker, Jack Davison, Carlijn Jacobs, Thurstan Redding, Jean Marques, and Matthieu Lavanchy. An archive section, inspired by Walker, traces Bridge's work back to 2009, while a 'Looks in Progress' segment showcases her creative process. Bridge aimed to showcase her makeup "under my rules" with friends as collaborators. Reflecting on her archive brought back memories of her rural upbringing in northern England and aspirations of a fashion career in a city. Mary Cleary interviewed Bridge for Wallpaper*.
