Luca Angeloni's Solo Exhibition 'Mercurio' Opens at Spazio TORRSO in Pesaro

Spazio TORRSO in Pesaro has launched a new exhibition series examining contemporary painting through theoretical and practical lenses. The inaugural exhibition, titled 'Mercurio,' features works by Luca Angeloni, a young artist born in 2000 in Massa-Carrara. This marks Angeloni's first solo show. The exhibition focuses on materiality as both technical component and creative driver in painting. Angeloni's process involves industrial-like techniques where raw materials undergo layering, erasure, and transformation, with particular attention to moments of material breakdown he calls 'malfunctions.' His work reflects his upbringing near the Apuan Alps marble quarries, exploring how extracted and fragmented materials can be reconstituted. The broader Spazio TORRSO program includes three exhibitions and an artist residency investigating painting's relationship to historical theoretical debates and its potential as an installation medium.
