Luc Tuymans Presents New Exhibition at David Zwirner in Los Angeles
Luc Tuymans has opened a solo exhibition at David Zwirner's Los Angeles gallery, featuring works that examine image interpretation in digital contexts. The show highlights The Fruit Basket (2025), a large fragmented grid painting derived from a smartphone photo of decaying fruit. Other pieces include Illumination (2024–2025), four abstract works inspired by restored manuscripts, and works like Hollow (2025) and The Maggot (2025) that explore themes of illusion and decay. The exhibition also displays intimate portraits created from 3D-printed figures. It is scheduled to remain on view until April 4, 2026.
