Louise Rossiter Releases 'Der Industrieplast, Pt. II' on Oscillations
Acoustic composer and performer Louise Rossiter has released 'Der Industrieplast, Pt. II', a four-track album on the Oscillations label. The work continues her exploration of the relationship between body and machine, inspired by Fritz Kahn's 1926 infographic 'Der Mensch als Industriepalast'. Rossiter recorded piano, violin, viola, and percussion, transforming the sounds into a sample library using Kontakt and a MIDI controller. The first installment, released in 2023, featured tracks 'Homo Machina', 'Neuronen', and 'Synapse', translating the human body into an acoustic landscape of pulsations, mechanical noises, and electrical currents. The new chapter includes 'Fairytale Journey on the Bloodstream', 'Iris Key', 'Kernal', and 'I_O', developing more complex structures that intertwine acoustic data with a theatrical dimension. Rossiter's project draws on Kahn's visual metaphors of the body as a factory, transforming those insights into soundscapes that invite the listener on an ear-guided journey. The album is available via Bandcamp.
