Louise Glück’s Restaurants: Rosa y Marigold Opens in Boston, Named for Her Novella

publication · 2026-10-19

Opened in April 2023, Rosa y Marigold is a Peruvian eatery in Boston, inspired by Louise Glück’s last book, “Marigold and Rose.” The restaurant is managed by Maria Rondeau and JuanMa Calderón, who previously established Celeste in Somerville in 2018. A frequent patron of Celeste, Glück had a penchant for ceviche and various other dishes. The dining area features a design split into two sections, adorned with mirrored-steel panels. Noah Dranow, Glück’s son and a father of twins, embodies the book's exploration of duality. Born in 1943, Glück released her inaugural collection in 1968 and contributed to the restaurant's menu before her passing. She celebrated her Nobel Prize win with friends at Celeste.
