Louis Vuitton Revives Classic Car Rally in Italy's Dolomites

Louis Vuitton is relaunching its Classic Run, a vintage car rally, in Italy this September after an 11-year hiatus. The Dolomites Run, scheduled from September 1 to 4, 2024, will start at Villa Pisani near Venice and end at the Monza racetrack, covering approximately 373 miles over two days. The event is free for participants this year, with future runs requiring a fee. Up to 25 classic cars, including Bugatti, Maserati, and Ferrari models manufactured before 1970, are expected. The rally serves as a prelude to the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, reflecting LVMH's recent 10-year sponsorship deal with F1. The winner will receive a trophy designed by Dutch artist Sabine Marcelis, produced by Murano glassmaker Venini, and presented in a custom Louis Vuitton trunk. Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari, who participated in the 2006 Boheme Run, spearheaded the revival. The original Classic Run began in 1993 in Malaysia and ended in 2012 with the Serenissima Run from Monaco to Venice.
