Lou Gramm Unveils New Solo Album Featuring Archival Recordings

Lou Gramm, the former lead vocalist of Foreigner, has released a new solo album titled 'Released,' which features previously unfinished tracks recorded during the late 1980s. The album, which came out last Friday, consists of 10 songs that Gramm co-wrote with bassist Bruce Turgon, blending rock and ballad styles reminiscent of his work with Foreigner. These archival pieces, some over 25 years old, were updated with additional verses, lead guitar parts, harmonies, and other elements to complete them. Musicians contributing to the album include guitarist Vivian Campbell, bassist Tony Franklin, and drummer Ben Gramm. The first single, 'Young Love,' is an anthemic rock track that recalls classic Foreigner and was recently performed live on a Caribbean cruise, receiving an enthusiastic response. Another notable song, 'Long Hard Look,' originally omitted from Gramm's 1989 album, appears here with a powerful chorus. 'True Blue Love,' previously an uptempo rocker on the 1989 album, is reimagined as an acoustic piano version. A reflective track, 'Time Heals the Pain,' explores themes of aging and life reflection. Gramm's solo career began with his 1987 album 'Ready or Not,' which included the hit 'Midnight Blue.' He plans to tour with an all-star band, performing songs from 'Released' alongside solo and Foreigner hits. This release coincides with Foreigner's 50th anniversary celebration and their 2024 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Gramm hints at more unreleased material in his archives that may be unveiled in the future.
