Longaberger's Iconic Basket Building in Ohio Put Up for Sale

In 2018, the Longaberger Company, once a thriving basket-weaving business valued at a billion dollars and employing over 8,000 individuals at its height, declared bankruptcy due to falling sales. The company’s distinctive headquarters, located in Newark, Ohio, was constructed in 1997 and resembles a massive basket complete with two large handles arching over a glass atrium. This iconic building has remained vacant for several years and is currently on the market. Ryan Miller, a photographer who was employed at Longaberger in 2014, observed the firm’s financial decline and noted that the glass ceiling suffered from moisture and ice buildup during winter, resulting in damage that was inadequately repaired, relying on tarp and tape for support in his last days there.
