London Museum to Open at Smithfield Market on November 28

On November 28, the London Museum, which was previously known as the Museum of London, is set to launch at Smithfield market in Farringdon. The total expenditure for the project has escalated to £437 million, up from the original £337 million budget established in 2019. Funding sources include £95 million from the Greater London Authority, £222 million from the City of London Corporation, along with contributions from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Goldsmiths’ Foundation, the Linbury Trust, and The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The museum ceased operations at its former location in December 2022. Designed by Stanton Williams and Asif Khan, it will debut in two phases: the Victorian General Market in November and the Poultry Market from the 1960s in 2028, featuring notable items such as a Banksy artwork, Tom Daley's diving trunks, and Charles I's silk vest.
