Llandudno Museum's Biodiversity Garden Project Transforms Unused Space with Community Support

Llandudno Museum & Gallery in North Wales is developing a Biodiversity Garden through a community project supported by Cyfle Cymru North Wales. The initiative, led by gardening coordinator Gareth Evans, involves transforming previously unused outdoor areas into educational and recreational spaces focused on local biodiversity. The project began in July 2020 after COVID-19 delays, with volunteers contributing over 400 hours to create features including an outdoor classroom, butterfly garden, pond, and repurposed historical elements. The garden aims to provide educational opportunities about Conwy County's natural environment while offering community wellness benefits through gardening activities and sensory installations.
