Lisette Model Retrospective at Albertina Museum in Vienna

The Albertina Museum in Vienna is presenting a comprehensive retrospective of photographer Lisette Model from October 30, 2025, to February 22, 2026. Curated by Walter Moser and Nina Eisterer, the exhibition showcases Model's key photographic series created between 1933 and 1959, including her iconic Promenade des Anglais images from Nice and her New York street photography. Born in Vienna in 1901 to a Jewish family, Model emigrated to New York in 1938 and became known for her direct, socially critical approach to portraiture. The exhibition features both well-known works and rarely seen photographs, along with the first public display of the original draft for her 1979 monograph.
