Linda Lach Presents 'all keys, all times' Exhibition at Salzburger Kunstverein Exploring Standardization and Waiting

Polish artist Linda Lach has mounted an exhibition titled 'all keys, all times' at the Salzburger Kunstverein in Salzburg. The installation creates an environment reminiscent of a waiting area, examining themes of stasis, standardization, and the hidden costs of universal compatibility. Lach employs a minimalist aesthetic with subtle disruptions, including a suspended ceiling made of milky latex that suggests both protection and restriction. Sculptural elements throughout the space disturb the orderly grid. A large form resembling a fallen scoreboard sits beneath the ceiling, appearing as both monument and debris. A tiny video shows a figure performing a simple, childlike gesture. The exhibition draws conceptual inspiration from the Werckmeister temperament, a musical tuning system that allows play in all keys but sacrifices pure harmony, serving as a metaphor for contemporary life where compatibility is achieved through flattening differences. Lach's work investigates the politics of standardization, how modular design becomes an emotional technology, and how waiting can be structured into permanence. The exhibition was commissioned and produced by Salzburger Kunstverein with support from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Polish Institute Vienna. Lach, born in 1995 in Warsaw, explores topics of translation, intimacy, and the political climate of Eastern Europe through sculpture, installation, video, and poetry using materials like wood, leather, and human milk.
