Lezama Lima's 'Le ere immaginarie' reissued in Italian
A new Italian edition of Cuban poet and writer José Lezama Lima's 'Le ere immaginarie' has been published by Edizioni degli animali in Rome, 2026. Translated by Giovanna Marras and Silvia Sichel, the volume includes a preface by Alberto Manguel. The book collects essays that, according to Manguel, shatter the idea of a unified cosmos and reveal vast epistemological constellations. The author's own prefatory words, cited in the release, define his admiration for writers who manipulate overwhelming forces, destroy and create language, and embody a timeless, millennial quality.
