Lexus Presents Collaborative Installation at Milan Design Week 2026 Exploring Mobility and Personal Space
Lexus will present an immersive installation titled 'SPACE' during Milan Design Week 2026, running from April 21 to 26 at the Tortona district's SUPERSTUDIO PIU' in Milan. The exhibition centers on the Lexus LS Concept, a six-wheel chauffeur-driven vehicle first shown at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. The installation aims to demonstrate that mobility has evolved beyond mere transportation into a transformative personal experience. Alongside the main installation, Lexus presents the collaborative project 'Discover Together,' which reinterprets the vehicle's rear-seat area under the theme 'Discover Your Space.' Four creative teams participated: the Japanese duo Kyotaro Hayashi and Yumi Kurotani, who use cinematic storytelling and light manipulation to create expansive sensory environments; Italy's Guardini Ciuffreda Studio, founded by Tiziano Guardini and Luigi Ciuffreda, which blends fashion, architecture, and natural systems to explore luxury through sustainable care; Amsterdam and Paris-based Random Studio, which creates interactive environments that respond to visitor presence; and a collaboration between Lexus in-house designers and Japanese master artisans employing traditional crafts like Kumiko latticework and Tendo Mokko bentwood. The exhibition argues that interior vehicle spaces can become personalized havens that reshape how individuals experience time and movement. All works will be displayed at DAYLIGHT HALL in Via Tortona 27.
