Leta Sobierajski Creates Immersive Installation for Showfields Miami

On December 7, 2021, artist Leta Sobierajski unveiled an installation titled 'Healing From Another World' at Showfields in Miami. The work was commissioned by Showfields, a retail venue featuring direct-to-consumer brands in wellness and design, during the pandemic, with the intention of debuting as conditions improved. The installation spans two floors of the historic Showfields Miami location, incorporating inflatable elements that evoke fluidity and buoyancy, reminiscent of ocean bubbles. Designed to foster a sense of wonder and accessibility, it invites viewers to engage from various perspectives, such as looking down from above or lying on the floor to gaze upward. Sobierajski aimed to encourage individual interpretation, emphasizing that art is open to all and that subjective meanings are valid. The piece features vibrant, Florida-inspired colors and contrasts, enveloping a metallic slide within the space. The project involved installation design, sculpture, rug design, and construction.
