Legal Action by Christian Ulmen Against Spiegel Magazine Over Allegations

Christian Ulmen, through his lawyer Christian Schertz, has filed for an interim injunction against Spiegel magazine at the Hamburg Regional Court. The legal move aims to prohibit the publication from suggesting three specific claims related to accusations made by his ex-wife, Collien Fernandes. These include allegations that Ulmen created or distributed deepfake videos depicting Fernandes, committed physical assaults and threats against her, and failed to appear at a court hearing in Palma de Mallorca in March 2026 without clarifying that only Fernandes was summoned and the hearing was canceled. The court press office announced the filing on Wednesday afternoon, noting that Spiegel has been given a deadline to respond, with no immediate decision expected. Fernandes had previously accused Ulmen in Spiegel and on Instagram of serious misconduct, including writing emails in her name, creating fake profiles, engaging in phone sex with men, arranging meetings, and fabricating a gang rape story. She claimed this behavior spanned over a decade, involving sending explicit material to numerous men to imply it originated from her. Ulmen reportedly admitted involvement after Fernandes filed a police report in late 2024, citing possessive motives and deriving pleasure from her degradation. Schertz has criticized the reporting as based on one-sided accounts and false facts, emphasizing the presumption of innocence. The injunction request does not cover all allegations raised by Fernandes.
