Lee Harrop Joins Northern Centre for Contemporary Art Board, Richard Watts Receives OAM

Visual artist Lee Harrop has been appointed to the Board of Darwin's Northern Centre for Contemporary Art. Harrop, born in Aotearoa/New Zealand and now living in Darwin/Garramilla on unceded Larrakia land, holds a PhD from Charles Darwin University and a Master of Fine Arts from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. Her ecologically oriented practice involves collaborative interdisciplinary projects addressing environmental and social justice issues. Separately, Richard Watts OAM, ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor and host of SmartArts on Triple R FM, received a Medal of the Order of Australia in June 2024. Watts, a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival Living Legend, won the 2019 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards' Facilitator's Prize and a 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Green Room Awards Association.
