Leading Hotels of the World's 'Explore' Book Showcases Adventurous Luxury Stays

Leading Hotels of the World has released 'Explore,' the latest volume in its travel book series, published by Phaidon's Monacelli imprint. The book features over 80 properties worldwide, each selected for unique experiences and adventurous locales. Editorially directed by Spencer Bailey and The Slowdown, it includes a foreword by Deepak Chopra. Highlights include the Anthology of Athens at the foot of the Acropolis, NIHI Sumba on an Indonesian beach, Nayara Alto Atacama in the Andes for skygazing, Rayavadee in Thailand accessible only by boat, and Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa in Switzerland, which hosted Sean Connery during 'Goldfinger' filming. Wellness is a focus, with Terme di Saturnia in Tuscany boasting a 215,000-square-foot spa. Golf enthusiasts are catered to with courses like Gleneagles in Scotland and Sonnenalp in Vail, Colorado, which also serves skiers in winter. The book includes 'Day Trip' inserts for Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, and 'Pro Tip' advice from tastemakers such as sound therapist Sara Auster, curator Allison Glenn, and architect Kulapat Yantrasast. To celebrate, Leading Hotels of the World held a Luxury Summit at Sonnenalp this summer for featured owners and executives. Previous editions, 'Design' (2024) and 'Culture' (2025), remain popular. The books are available for purchase and are placed in over 400 member properties across 80 countries.
