Léa Mysius adapts Laurent Mauvignier's thriller "Histoires de la nuit" for the screen

French director Léa Mysius has adapted "Histoires de la nuit," the anxious thriller by writer Laurent Mauvignier, for the cinema. The adaptation features a five-star cast including Hafsia Herzi, Benoît Magimel, Bastien Bouillon and Monica Bellucci. Since the publication of the novel, Mauvignier has received the Prix Goncourt for another novel, "La Maison vide." The film was presented in the 100% cinema edition of the France 24 program "À l'Affiche !" broadcast on 17 September 2026. The same program also featured "Si tu penses bien" by Géraldine Nakache, a new feature exploring psychological violence and marital control, in which Monia Chokri finds herself under the sway of a pernicious, manipulative and toxic Niels Schneider. The director of "Tout ce qui brille" and "J'irai où tu iras" returns with this long-métrage. A third film, "Les contrebandiers" by Padraic McKinley, plunges viewers into 1930s America, carried by an Ethan Hawke described as very charismatic as a gold smuggler confronted with a pitiless prison director played by Russell Crowe.
