The Le Dune Piscinas resort in Sardinia, Italy, hosts a unique annual artist residency. The building, originally a mineral warehouse for the Gennamari-Ingurtosu mine in the late 19th century, was abandoned in 1965 and later converted into a luxury hotel in 1995. Located within the vast Piscinas dune system in the municipality of Arbus, the resort features site-specific works by artists including Alessandro Papetti, Moritz Waldemeyer, Loris Anvidalfarei, Francesca Frau, Gianfranco Guerzoni, Medhat Shafik, Giulio Catelli, Vanni Cuoghi, Crisa, Enzo Esposito, and Lorenzo Lucido. The residency integrates art into the hotel's spaces such as the library, reception, American bar, restaurant Il Ginepro, and guest rooms. The resort is accessible only via a dirt track, emphasizing its remote setting.
