Lap-See Lam Presents First Asian Solo Exhibition in Hong Kong Exploring Family Heritage

Swedish artist Lap-See Lam has opened her inaugural solo exhibition in Asia at Blindspot Gallery in Hong Kong, running through May 2. The show coincides with Art Basel Hong Kong and represents a homecoming for Lam, whose family originates from Hong Kong and operated a Chinese restaurant in Stockholm. Lam's artistic practice draws on mythology and the experiences of Chinese diaspora communities across generations, using interconnected films, sculptures, and installations. Her work has been featured internationally, including at the 2024 Venice Biennale's Nordic Pavilion. The artist's methodology is inspired by bamboo growth patterns, creating non-linear narratives that branch in multiple directions.
