La Spezia's CAMeC Museum Adopts Committee-Based Leadership Structure

The CAMeC - Centro d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in La Spezia has implemented a new governance model, replacing its single director with two committees. A seven-member scientific committee led by art historian Gerhard Wolf will guide artistic and research decisions, while a technical committee headed by lawyer Giacomo Bei handles operational matters. This change follows the museum's reopening and partnership between the municipality and Fondazione Carispezia in 2024. The scientific committee includes prominent figures such as Arturo Galansino, Francesco Guzzetti, Giuseppe Iannaccone, Giulia Lecchini, Mirjam Varadinis, and Elena Volpato. The museum aims to strengthen its international programming while maintaining local connections, with a new exhibition on Romanticism in contemporary art scheduled for April 2026.
