La Maison Tellier Releases Eighth Album 'Timidité des Arbres'

French folk band La Maison Tellier, formed in 2004 by brothers Raoul and Helmut Tellier, has released their eighth album, 'Timidité des Arbres'. The album is a warm, immersive record recorded live in a single room with collaborators, without heavy production. It features contributions from Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut, Bon Iver), Louis-Jean Cormier (Karkwa), H-Burns, and Karen Lano. The album was produced by Étienne Caylou and includes live takes, with arrangements that are precise but not decorative. The music blends French-language folk with American influences, drawing comparisons to Jean-Louis Murat and Calexico. The album is dedicated to Murat and Shane MacGowan. It incorporates field recordings of birds from the Vernier marsh, adding a natural presence. The first single, 'Love Again', tells a love story with a mariachi backdrop. The band will perform at the Elysée Montmartre in Paris on September 24. La Maison Tellier has released several albums since their debut, including 'Second Souffle' (2007), 'L'Art de la Fugue', 'Beauté Pour Tous' (2013), 'Avalanche' (2016), 'Primitifs Modernes' (2019), and 'ATLAS' (2022). The band has previously opened for Alain Bashung at L'Olympia in 2007.
