Klima Biennale Wien's (No) Funny Games Transforms Vienna with Playful Climate Crisis Art

Vienna will host the exhibition (No) Funny Games from April 9 to May 10, 2026, as part of the second Klima Biennale Wien, organized by KunstHausWien. The festival drew more than 225,000 attendees in 2024. Featuring ten artists, including River Claure, Dominik Eulberg, Marcin Nowicki, and Romuald Hazoumè, the exhibition showcases site-specific works that tackle environmental and social issues. Key venues include Wien Mitte The Mall, Karlsplatz, Rosa Mayreder-Park, and Aspernbrücke bridge. Curated by Dorothea Trappel and Hektor Peljak in collaboration with Calle Libre and KÖR Wien, the exhibition draws inspiration from films such as 'Dr. Strangelove' and 'Funny Games'. Significant projects include Claure's 'A cuenta de tres, lo destruimos todo' and Köbberling's 'Maaaaash!'. The festival is overseen by KunstHausWien director Gerlinde Riedl and Klima Biennale Wien director Sithara Pathirana.
