The show draws on the Proto-Indo-European root *teks-, meaning “to weave” or “to fabricate,” which gave rise to Latin texere (textile, text), Greek tekhnē (art, craft, skill), and English words like architect and technology. The exhibition references Roland Barthes’ Mythologies, which compared textile development to myth creation, arguing that woven fabric carries both literal and abstract meaning.
