Kiki Smith's First LA Solo Show in 30 Years at Deitch and Pace

Untethered Journey, an exhibition featuring both historical and contemporary pieces by Kiki Smith, will be co-hosted by Jeffrey Deitch and Pace Gallery at Deitch's venue located at 925 N Orange Drive, Los Angeles. This showcase, which runs from October 30, 2026, to January 23, 2027, marks Smith's first solo display in the city in 30 years. The exhibition will highlight Smith's artistic evolution since the 1980s, showcasing her diverse materials across sculpture, drawing, glasswork, printmaking, and textiles. Her work delves into the relationship between humanity and nature, often addressing themes of mortality, regeneration, and gender politics with a spiritual and psychological lens. Smith's inspirations include historical visual culture such as 18th-century anatomical illustrations, relics, folklore, and Byzantine iconography, promising a comprehensive view of her thought-provoking and poetic creations.
