KGK Brigade Posters for Collective Action on Sale at Productive Arts

Productive Arts is showcasing a collection of photomontage posters from the early 1930s, crafted by the KGK Brigade, a Soviet design collective named after its members, Viktor Koretsky (1909–1998), Vera Gitsevich (1897–1976), and Boris Knoblok (1903–1984). Erika Wolf highlights these works in her book "Koretsky: The Soviet Poster 1930–1984" (The New Press), noting their ties to groundbreaking photomontage artists like Klucis and others. Among the standout pieces are "Woman Delegate, Take the Lead!" (1931), which promotes women's rights and collectivization, and "Collective Farmers to the Timber Harvest" (1931), depicting farmers securing agreements. Other notable works celebrate the First Five-Year Plan and the USSR's agricultural progress. Koretsky remained active in poster creation well into the 1980s.
