Ketty Gottardo Named Director of Louvre's Graphic Arts Department
Effective October 1, Ketty Gottardo, an academic from Venice, has been named the director of the Louvre Museum's Department of Graphic Arts for a three-year term, which can be renewed. This announcement was made by Christophe Leribault, the president-director of the Louvre, and was also communicated by the French Minister of Culture. Gottardo earned her Art History degree from the University of Udine and holds both a master's and a PhD from the Courtauld Institute. Since 2016, she has served as the curator of drawings at the Courtauld and has prior experience at the Louvre, Getty Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, and Christie's. Linda Borean lauded her appointment as a notable career milestone. The Department encompasses the Drawing Collection, Calcography Department, and Edmond de Rothschild Collection.
