Ketty Gottardo Appointed Head of Louvre's Department of Graphic Arts

Ketty Gottardo has been appointed director of the department of graphic arts at the Louvre, returning to the institution where she began her career in 1999. A doctor of art history and a specialist in old master drawings, Gottardo had served since 2016 as curator of drawings at the Courtauld Gallery in London. Her earlier professional experience includes positions at the Getty Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The appointment was reported by L'ŒIL on 24 September 2026, in a brief of 59 words, and appears in the magazine's Patrimoine section. The news was published in L'ŒIL issue n°799, dated 1 October 2026, under the heading "Ketty Gottardo aux Arts graphiques." The same issue's Patrimoine section also carried a separate museum appointment: Stéphanie Deschamps-Tan was named to a sculptures post, reported on 24 September 2026 in a 47-word item. Elsewhere in the section, the 28th edition of Monument jeu d'enfant was announced for 17 and 18 October 2026, a heritage event designed for children. A further item reported that the citadelle de Belle-Île, acquired by Accor, will next year become the first French property of Emblems Collection, the group's luxury brand; the citadelle Vauban will operate as a hotel-museum. Separately, Abbeville has abandoned its plan to rebuild the Musée Boucher-de-Perthes, a project valued at 30.5 million euros, even though construction had already begun; the city must now find a solution for its 80,000 works and objects.
