Keti Kapanadze's First Berlin Solo Show 'Karma' at Bukia Vakhania
Keti Kapanadze, a conceptual artist from Georgia, is showcasing her inaugural solo exhibition in Berlin titled 'Karma' at Bukia Vakhania. Born in Tbilisi in 1962, she made history as Georgia's first female conceptual artist, starting her artistic journey in 1983 at Tbilisi Art Academy. The exhibition features early staged photographs such as 'Reading Shakespeare' (2003) and 'Harmonic Enterprise' (2019–20), alongside recent aluminum works from the 'Karma' series (2026). Kapanadze's art delves into themes of existence, influenced by the philosophical concepts of Franz Brentano and Bernhard Riemann. Since 2000, she has resided in Bonn and Tbilisi, with her works included in significant collections. In 1997, she earned the First Prize in Photography from Open Society Georgia and has served as a visiting professor.
