KAWS Monumental Sculpture Installed at Albertina Modern in Vienna

A seven-meter-tall sculpture by American artist KAWS has been installed in front of the Albertina modern museum in Vienna. The artwork, featuring the artist's signature cartoon-inspired aesthetic with X-shaped eyes, was positioned using a crane. This marks the first major European museum presentation for KAWS, whose work previously appeared at institutions like the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and in Abu Dhabi's harbor. Brian Donnelly, known professionally as KAWS, creates pop art figures that reference characters such as Mickey Mouse, Snoopy, and Cookie Monster. The Vienna installation represents a significant institutional recognition for an artist whose imagery originated in street culture.
