Katya Libkind's First Polish Solo Exhibition Explores Trauma and Memory Through Bodily Art

Katya Libkind, a Ukrainian artist, is showcasing her inaugural solo exhibition titled "To despair – To look" at Białystok's Arsenal Gallery, with Ewa Chacianowska serving as curator. This exhibition delves into themes of body, sensuality, and trauma, which are crucial for healing. Originally from Vladivostok and currently residing in Kyiv, Libkind completed her studies at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in 2016. Her diverse portfolio encompasses graphic art, painting, sculpture, installation, film, and land art, often weaving dreamlike stories about memory and the body. In 2020, she was awarded the Gaude Polonia scholarship and has previously exhibited in group shows at the Arsenal Gallery, collaborating with The Naked Room and the Khanenko Museum. Additionally, she co-founded the Montage collective and atelienormalno.
