Kathrin Pechlof Trio Releases Album 'Hyperobjekt'

The Berlin-based harpist Kathrin Pechlof, together with saxophonist Christian Weidner and bassist Robert Landfermann, has released the album 'Hyperobjekt' on the label NWOG Records, distributed by Indigo/Kontor (EAN: 4015698448009). The trio, which first performed together on January 1, 2011, creates music defined by minimal impulses and maximal sonic space, allowing listeners to perceive even their own pulse as a fourth element. Pechlof describes the group as a 'meta-instrument' where the three musicians' brains merge into a single cockpit. The compositions were written by Pechlof and Weidner, and the album was recorded in two complete takes of their live set, mixed by sound engineer Kseniya Kawkos. The trio's approach emphasizes silence and nuance, with Pechlof noting that none of them play as quietly in any other context. The album includes tracks such as 'Lichtpunkt' (4:34), 'Every Hour of the Light and Dark' (4:45), 'Ioni Lee' (4:29), and 'Hyperobjekt' (11:06), with a total duration of 40:19 minutes.
