Katerina Gregos to Curate 11th U3 Triennial in Ljubljana, Opening June 2027
Katerina Gregos has been appointed to curate the 11th Triennial of Contemporary Art in Slovenia—U3, scheduled to take place from June 18 to November 14, 2027, at Moderna galerija Ljubljana. Established in 1994, this triennial features a rotation of curators from both Slovenia and abroad. Since 2021, Gregos has served as the director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMΣT) in Athens, focusing on the interplay between art, society, and politics. Her goal is to create a supportive environment for artists during times of uncertainty. Notable past curators include Tevž Logar, Tomaž Brejc, and Boris Groys. Gregos has curated nine international biennials and national pavilions at the Venice Biennale. Recent exhibitions at EMΣT include Statecraft and Beyond (2022) and Modern Love (2023), and the museum is set to receive the 2026 European Art Museum Award.
