Kate Millett's 'Terminal Piece' Anchors First Major Exhibition Under New Mumok Director

The mumok in Vienna is showcasing 'Terminal Piece,' an exhibition inspired by Kate Millett's 1972 artwork of the same title, which the museum has recently acquired. This exhibition, co-curated by Fatima Hellberg and Lukas Flygare, is the first significant show under Hellberg's leadership. Organized into five acts, it delves into themes such as visibility, surveillance, and the ethics of observation. Featured artists include Megan Plunkett, Miroslav Tichý, Elisabeth Subrin, and Bruce Nauman, among others. Running from 2026 to 2027, the exhibition includes installation views captured by Markus Wörgötter. Millett, recognized for her feminist text 'Sexual Politics' (1970), reflects on the violence within communities, particularly in relation to Sylvia Likens' murder.
