Kate Meissner Exhibition Concluding at Lyles & King Project Space in New York

Lyles & King is currently presenting a solo exhibition of new paintings by artist Kate Meissner at their project space in New York City. The show, which explores themes of bodily transformation and elasticity, will remain on view through April 4. Meissner, born in 1995 in Sacramento, California, now lives and works in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA from Yale University and is represented by Lyles & King. Her artistic practice in this exhibition is informed by her personal experience of pregnancy and the birth of her first child last year, leading to works that meditate on physiological change and the mammalian nature of the human form. Meissner's paintings are included in several permanent collections, including those of the Denver Art Museum in Colorado, the Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art in Rizhao, China, The Mer Collection in Madrid, Spain, and the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts in Birmingham, United States.
