Karma presents Yvonne Jacquette solo exhibition From the Air

Karma gallery is presenting its inaugural solo exhibition of Yvonne Jacquette (1934–2023), titled "From the Air," which includes paintings and works on paper created between 1971 and 2019. This exhibition explores Jacquette's evolution of aerial perspective, both as a subject and technique, highlighting her unique depictions of Manhattan and Maine. Her interest in unconventional viewpoints began in the 1960s, as she painted from oblique angles, observing through windows, down at her son's toys, and up at ceilings. A significant moment came during a cross-country flight to San Diego in 1969, which motivated her to focus on aerial perspectives.
