Kanal-Centre Pompidou in Brussels to Open November 2026 with Ten Exhibitions

On November 28, 2026, Brussels will unveil Kanal-Centre Pompidou, a new cultural landmark dedicated to modern and contemporary art, located in the historic Citroën garage at Place Sainctelette. Spanning 40,000 square meters, the museum, crafted by Atelier Kanal (EM2N, noAarchitecten, Sergison Bates Architects), preserves its original facade and allocates 13,000 square meters for exhibitions. It promises to be inclusive, showcasing visual arts, architecture, dance, cinema, music, and theater, as well as housing a library, research center, and playground. The opening program features ten exhibitions, including 'La première fois' by Joëlle Tuerlinckx and 'A truly immense journey' highlighting works by Matisse and Picasso. This initiative stems from a 2017 agreement with the Brussels-Capital Region and the Centre Pompidou.
