June Williamson elected ACSA president for 2026–2027
June Williamson has been appointed the new president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) for the 2026–2027 term. An architect since 2003, she is currently a Professor and directs the Graduate Programs in Architecture at the City College of New York. Williamson succeeds José Gámez and has written three books, collaborating on two with Ellen Dunham-Jones. Her role will involve engaging with various architectural boards while promoting ACSA and its events. This transition comes during a time of scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Education regarding architecture education, especially following a federal judge’s temporary block on redefining architecture as a professional degree. Gámez highlighted the association's focus on advocating for accredited graduate programs in federal student loan policies.
