Juan Berlanga recounts attack during performance in Manzanares

Spanish dancer Juan Berlanga, recipient of this year's Max Award for best male performer for his work 'Juancaballo', has spoken out about the assault he suffered during a performance in Manzanares (Ciudad Real). Five days after the incident, Berlanga says he still feels unwell and cannot understand what happened. During the opening of the CallejeArtes cycle in the Plaza de la Constitución, he was insulted, had a chair thrown at him, and attempts were made to stop his performance by sounding horns. The attackers were among people gathered in the square for demonstrations called by the PP, with support from Vox, on the occasion of the Day of Ceuta. Berlanga, a dancer with the Ballet Nacional, continued dancing, stating, 'I kept dancing, I wasn't going to let them get away with it.'
