Journal des Antiquaires et Galeries n°11: New Issue Covers Art Market, Legislation, and Fairs

The Syndicat des Négociants en Art (SNA) has released the 11th issue of its publication, Le Journal des Antiquaires et Galeries, on September 7, 2026. The issue focuses on the activities of art dealers, covering topics from fall art fairs to import-export challenges and legislative changes. In an editorial, SNA president Mathias Ary Jan discusses the need to modernize French legislation on art forgery, noting that the current law dates back to 1895. He highlights the SNA's support for a bill proposed by Senator Bernard Fialaire, which aims to provide a more coercive and protective legal framework for artists, collectors, and amateurs, and is transpartisan. The issue also previews several upcoming events: Parcours des Mondes celebrates its 25th anniversary, Fine Arts Paris enters a new era, Moderne Art Fair returns to the Place de la Concorde, and Art Basel Paris balances Parisian roots with international ambitions.
