Jordi Teixidor's Exhibition 'No-res' Opens at Sala Alcalá 31 in Madrid

Sala Alcalá 31 in Madrid presents 'No-res,' a retrospective exhibition of Spanish abstract painter Jordi Teixidor, running from February 19 to April 19, 2026. Curated by Ángel Calvo Ulloa, the show features over fifty works spanning Teixidor's career since the 1960s, including 31 of his notebooks displayed together for the first time. Teixidor, born in Valencia in 1941 and based in Madrid since the early 1980s, is known for monochromatic paintings and rigorous use of black, and received Spain's National Plastic Arts Award in 2014. The exhibition explores themes of nothingness and introspection, inviting viewers to reflect on presence emerging from absence. This marks Teixidor's first institutional exhibition in Madrid.
