John Stezaker Presents New Collage Series at Chicago Gallery Exhibition

British artist John Stezaker will present a solo exhibition at GRAY Chicago starting March 28, 2026. The show, titled Raft, features a new collection of landscape collages that combine two archival images into single compositions. These works utilize nineteenth-century British travel books that reflect imperial geography. Stezaker's approach involves what he describes as spatial intervals between elements like oceans and courthouses or rivers and bridges. The exhibition continues his exploration of conceptual collage techniques developed over nearly sixty years.
