John Ruskin Never Burned Turner's Erotic Drawings, Contrary to His 2003 Admission
Since 2003 it has been established that the British art critic John Ruskin did not destroy the erotic drawings of the painter William Turner, despite what he told the journalist and writer Frank Harris. Ruskin, who was a collector, biographer and executor of Turner's estate, had claimed to have burned the works. The drawings have since been published and exhibited. The revelation contradicts Ruskin's own account given to Harris.
