Joe Jackson Concludes North American Tour at Beacon Theatre

On Saturday night, Joe Jackson, the British singer-songwriter who has made New York City his home, performed at the Beacon Theatre, wrapping up the North American leg of his Hope and Fury tour. His nearly two-hour show celebrated close to 50 years of music, featuring songs from his latest album as well as fan favorites and lesser-known tracks. Jackson kicked things off solo on the keyboard with "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" and "It's Different for Girls," before being joined by his band—Graham Maby, Teddy Kumpel, Doug Yowell, and Felipe Fournier—for tracks like "Welcome to Burning-by-Sea." The setlist included hits like "Sunday Papers" and "Look Sharp!" and concluded with "Target" leading into "Steppin' Out." The encore featured a cover of David Bowie's "Scary Monsters," and he ended the night solo with "Home Town." His performance blended jazz, pop, New Wave, and Latin styles, all infused with a New York vibe. The tour will head to the U.K. and Ireland this fall.
