João Victor Medeiros Documents Early Setup of 36th São Paulo Bienal

Photographer João Victor Medeiros has captured the initial construction phase for the 36th Bienal de São Paulo. His images document the two-month installation process at the Bienal Pavilion, beginning in early August. The visual essay records architectural preparations like wall construction alongside final adjustments made with participating artists. Three photographers were commissioned to document this extensive exhibition assembly, focusing on creative moments, details, and individuals involved. Medeiros produced the first installment of this three-part photographic series. All photographs are credited to João Medeiros and the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo. The project highlights the complex logistical challenges of mounting a large-scale biennial exhibition.
