Jewellers channel Dalí's surrealism in dreamlike collections

A wave of contemporary jewellers is drawing inspiration from Salvador Dalí, creating pieces that evoke his surrealist vision. California-based Adam Neeley launched 'Dalí's Garden' at PAD Paris last month, a collection six years in the making featuring titanium pieces with anodised colour and over 55 carats of Burmese rubies in the Rosa Petula necklace. Neeley credits Dalí's cookbook 'Les Dîners de Gala' and a dream of dining with the artist. Meanwhile, Paris-based Lydia Courteille incorporates Dalí's iconography—eyes, lips, skulls, lobsters—into her gem-set compositions. New York's Jesse Marlo Lazowski released 'Dreaming of Cadaques', inspired by Dalí's Catalan village, with a gold sun motif. London-based Martina Kocianova created lip rings referencing Dalí's Mae West lips sofa, shown at Dover Street Market New York. The renewed interest coincides with institutional focus, including the V&A's 'Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art' exhibition, and strong auction results: Dalí's Swirling Sea necklace fetched €736,600 at Sotheby's Paris in October 2025. The Louisa Guinness Gallery in London featured 'The Eye of Time' brooch in its Surrealist Jewels 101 exhibition.
