Jentel Artist Residency Opens Applications for 2027 Sessions

The Jentel Artist Residency, part of the UW Neltje Center in Wyoming, is now accepting applications for its 2027 sessions. Located 20 miles southeast of Sheridan, the residency offers 3-week programs from mid-January through early December. Visual artists, writers (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry), and composers are eligible. Selections are based on artistic merit and promise, welcoming both emerging and established artists. The residency provides private studios, accommodations, and a $300 stipend. Each of 11 annual sessions hosts three artists, two writers, and one composer. The residency is set in the Lower Piney Creek Valley with views of the Bighorn Mountains, featuring five new and two renovated structures.
